Fundamental Duties
51A.
Ye Hind ke har shehri par farz hoga -
It shall be the duty of every
citizen of India—
51A(a). ke wo Aain ki itaa-at me rahe aur iske sutoon aur iske idaaro ki, Qaumi Parcham aur Qaumi Taraane ki izzat kare;
to abide by the Constitution
and respect its ideals and institutions, the National Flag and the National
Anthem;
51A(b). ke wo un aziim sutoon ke jinse hamaari qaumi jaddo-jehd e azaadi mutta'assir rahi, inhe tasliim kare aur inki farmaabardaari kare;
51A(b). ke wo un aziim sutoon ke jinse hamaari qaumi jaddo-jehd e azaadi mutta'assir rahi, inhe tasliim kare aur inki farmaabardaari kare;
to cherish and follow the noble
ideals which inspired our national struggle for freedom;
51A(c). ke wo Hind ki khud-mukhtaari, ittehaad aur saalmiyat ko barkaraar maane aur inki hifaazat kare;
to uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India;
51A(d). ke jab kabhi laazim ho, wo mulk ki difaa kare aur qaumi khidmat faraaham kare;
to defend the country and render national service when called upon to do so;
51A(e). ke wo, mazhabi, zabaani, ilaaqaayi ya alahida tafaariiq se upar uth kar; Hind ki tamaam awaam ke darmeyaan hum-aahangi aur mushtarka jazba e biraadari ko farogh kare, aur un rasoom ki tardiid kare jo aurtou ke waqaar ke mukhaalif hou;
to promote harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood amongst all the people of India transcending religious, linguistic and regional or sectional diversities; to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women;
51A(f). ke wo hamaari kasiir wiraasat aur hamaari ijtemaayi saqaafat ki qadr kare aur inhe mehfooz rakhe;
to value and preserve the rich heritage of our composite culture;
51A(g). ke wo hamaare qudrati mahaaol, jangalaat, jheele, daryaa aur jungli haewaaniya ki hifaazat kare aur unhe behtar banaaye; aur jaandaar makhluuq se hamdardi rakhe;
to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wild life, and to have compassion for living creatures;
51A(h). ke wo sciencii jazbaat, insaaniyat aur tahqiiqi aur islaahi jazbaat ka qayaam kare;
to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform;
51A(i). ke wo awaami imlaak ka tahaffuz kare aur tashaddud ko tarq kare;
to safeguard public property and to abjure violence;
51A(j). ke wo tamaam furaada aur ijtemaayi sargarmiyou me behtariin saabit hone ke liye mehnatkash rahe taake mulk musalsal amuur aur qaamyaabi ke aala darjaat par ubharta rahe;
to strive towards excellence in all spheres of individual and collective activity so that the nation constantly rises to higher levels of endeavour and achievement;

51A(k). ke jo koi waalidaen ya sarparast hae, apne chhe se chaudah saal ki darmiyaani umr ke, khud ke ya, jaesa ma'amla ho, zer e nighraani bachche ko ta’alimi mawaaqe faraaham kare.
who is a parent or guardian to provide opportunities for education to his child or, as the case may be, ward between the age of six and fourteen years.
